నిప్పుతో వేసిన పెయింట్
Spazuk started his artistic career as a more traditional artist, using watercolor and acrylic paints.
It was during the 1980's that he become intrigued by the smooth gradients of using an airbrush.
Then in 2001 he had a crazy idea.
What would happen if he burned the canvass and controlled soot being left on its surface.
That's when his unique style of "fire art" was born, and he hasn't looked back since.
Here is Spazuk working on one of his bigger, multi-part pieces.
Some of his more recent work is fairly abstract.
But there is just something about creating these pieces with fire that gives them an undeniable appeal.
Spazuk starts his creations with a lit candle. He applies the fire from the candle to the canvass in a very controlled way.
He then very delicately chips, and smooths away the soot from the fire to create his masterpieces.
